MARK BROOKS - May 14- I'm presenting a 3 hour session for the pre-conference at the Beverly Hills Internet Dating Conference June 20th. As part of my research I checked out OMMA Mobile today, which is part of the New York City Internet Week. Here's some takeaways.
- Get with the program! Within 2 years 50% of all internet consumption will come from mobile devices
- Buy now, and establish your ad partners, while costs are reasonable. Less than 1% of online ad spends are on mobile
- 80% of discretionary spending will be influenced by mobile and social by 2015
- Put mobile at the core of your marketing efforts and don't silo your mobile ad budget
- SMS has 100% open rate. Use it wisely
- Prepare for 4g by offering more interactive content
- Figure out how to 'tell great stories' and leverage mobile to emotionally engage people i.e. sync.americanexpress.com/twitter
